ElskaLife

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Counselling and how can it help me?
Counselling is a process where a trained therapist helps you explore and address challenges, goals and concerns. It can help you develop coping strategies, improve relationships and increase self-awareness and self-acceptance. Tell us your story and we will help you reflect on it with compassion.
What issues do you help with?
Our counsellors work with individuals, couples, families and groups on a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, grief, self-esteem, and more.
What can I expect in a counselling session?
Individual sessions typically last 50-55 minutes and couples sessions take about 80 minutes per session. You’ll meet with a trained therapist who will listen actively, provide support, and help you explore solutions. You can expect a safe, non-judgmental space to share your thoughts and feelings.
How often do I need to come to counselling?
The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people come weekly, while others come every other week or monthly. We’ll work together to determine the best schedule for you.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes, counselling is confidential. Our therapists adhere to ethical standards and laws protecting your privacy and safety. In very specific circumstances that involve immediate danger to yourself or others, the therapist may be required to break confidentiality. Feel free to ask more when you make initial contact with us.
How much does counselling cost?
Session fees are available here. From time to time, individual therapists may offer special rates.
