My Approach To Counselling
Happiness is the goal!
I have worked with adult professionals to overcome obstacles in both their work and personal life and develop healthy approaches to tackling stress and living a meaningful life. I have also worked with adolescents to overcome a broad range of issues from anxiety, depression to self-esteem issues.
I believe development is a like ladder and different approaches need tailoring to help individuals as they climb that ladder. Happiness is the top of the ladder and defining that, and ultimately reaching it, is the mission.
I work with clients identify roadblocks; form a plan for moving forward; and then assist clients navigate to a better place.
Background
I have extensive international experience having worked in the Americas, Europe, Australasia, and Asia. I have worked in a variety of organisations from Finance Corporates, Trading Companies and the United Nations. Throughout, one common theme has emerged and that is that humans are often ill prepared for the stresses of the modern world. Even those who are prepared often need some extra help from time to time
Approaches and Issues
The techniques involved are tailor made to the client depending on where the client is on the development ladder. For example, a person-centered technique along with CBT may be the best for a client suffering anxiety. However once that client is ready, more goal-oriented approach may be adapted to continue the journey up the ladder.
I have supported clients through
- Executive Stress
- Trading Psychology
